Adaptive cruise control question

Is there a way to make Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) automatically adjust to the current speed limit? The car detects speed limits when using the speed limiter, but i can't find an option to have ACC change speeds based on them.

I think there are cars that let you pair ACC with traffic sign recognition, but I mean not all brands have that feature. Maybe for the Traverse, you need a software update or some sort of adjustment through the settings if your model supports it.

Isn't it frustrating that despite advanced tech, most carmakers still don't let Adaptive Cruise Control automatically follow speed limits, are they holding back this feature to push buyers toward pricier trims or newer models? Why prioritize profit over real driver convenience?

That makes sense, software updates could unlock some features. Do you know if the Traverse requires a dealer visit for that, or can it be done through an app or over-the-air update?

I hear you, that does feel like a missed opportunity for better safety and convenience. Do you think this kind of feature might become standard as regulations tighten, or will it stay locked behind higher trim levels for the foreseeable future??
