What do you think about the GM cross bars?

Slapped on the GM Accessories cross bars and had some thoughts. Price tag is up there ($325 list), but compared to Thule, it's still cheaper. These things are solid though, good weight, no flimsy junk. Install was straightforward, locks in tight.

If you're on the fence, they're a safe bet. Way better than dealing with universal fit racks that barely hold up.

Only thing is, GM's product photos don't do them justice, so you may wanna see it in person first.

Gonna answer for you since I got an idea. Definitely at least 100lbs and 150 max. But you still have to double check the capacity of your roof. Can't just keep popping things on there.

I've heard mixed reviews on aftermarket brands and the GM ones, but I'm curious, how are you planning to use them? are you going for roof boxes or just general cargo hauling? also, how much weight are you looking to carry?

This is cool! Our family's been thinking about which cross bar to install for loading our kayaks and mountain bikes.

Anyone here had any experience carrying similar sport equipment? I'd like to know your thoughts!

The GMs are good! Agree with you that the photos look meh. Still props to you for choosing it despite many saying they don't really feel it. Don't judge the part by its ad.

yeah, cross bars are pricey, even the non-OEM ones. but it's a necessity, especially for people who like to carry kayaks like me
