First impressions and future updates

As a family man with plenty of kids to drive around, a 3-row suv seemed like a reasonable choice, meaning I'll be the proud owner of a 2024 Traverse RS. I took it for a drive yesterday and like how it drives. Chevy claims that the rs should be the sporty trim, which i'm not convinced as it's not mindbendingly fast, but it's enough for me. I'll be taking delivery some time next week so I'll circle back to this tread to give you my additional impressions. With that said, any surprises I should be prepared for?

Yeah, the RS isn't exactly "sporty" in the way most people expect. Chevy's been doing this since the late '80s when they slapped the RS badge on things like the Cavalier and Beretta — mostly visual upgrades with minor performance tweaks. The Traverse RS is kinda the same deal — blacked-out trim, slightly stiffer suspension, and a bit of tuning, but nothing that'll blow your mind. One thing to watch for though is the 9-speed transmission. It's decent most of the time, but some folks complain about rough shifts, especially when cold. Keeping the software updated helps.

the tech features are nice, though the system can be a bit slow at times. Fuel economy might not be the best, and the ride could feel stiffer compared to other trims. But overall, it should be a great fit for your family because as a parent too, I can understand

@hal9000 honestly the Traverse RS is like that friend who shows up to the gym in full gear but only lifts the lightest weights. sure, the blacked-out sporty look is cool but @QuantumBugFixer10 nailed it when they said it's mostly visual and @fairytoddparent has a point about the ride being a bit stiffer though. if you can handle the quirks of the 9 speed transmission on cold mornings and don't mind slightly higher fuel stops, it's still a solid family hauler with some tech flair. just curious, are you planning to road trip test it or mostly keep it local for now?

i'm curious to know updates about this.. i'm torn between purchasing a 2024 traverse Z71 or 2024 traverse rs, been checking online for reviews and feedback.
