On my way home when the check engine light suddenly popped up, checked everything and all seems fine, dont feel anything odd too. stopped to get some coffee and hoping to get answers here, is there any basic troubleshooting? lost some confidence to drive with this check engine light lol my paranoia is getting through my nerves

Ooh relatable. I still haven't got back my Traverse from the mechanic but it's been having weird problems lately I'm not surprised this forum has many stories re issues and troubleshooting. Fun to read. Anyway don't you have a code reader or soemething? I think at this point in time, it's an essential to have. Why not get a bluetooth one so it comes in handy? I'm not a mechanic so I dom't know exactly what to make you do other than get a mechanic honestly.

could be the tiniest detail ever like a loose lid cover from your gas pump. dont sweat it too much, you know your car better than anyone else at this point. if you dont feel anything odd then just go on.

a check engine light also can caused by something simple, like a loose gas cap, I think you shouldn't ignore it

They've said it all already, so maybe stop by an auto parts store, they usually scan it for free. Until then, just take it easy and don't let the nerves take over too much.

I agree with them here. And also yeah @fairlyoddparent is right, a quick scan will calm your nerves and tell you if it's minor or not. Most times it's something simple like a gas cap or a small sensor acting up.
