Hey,

I just bought a 2025 Chevy Traverse Z71. I figured out that I can give the vehicle wifi through a hotspot on my phone. Through that I can make amazon prime work on the vehicle without needing the OnStar data subscription. What I'm wondering though, is if there is a way to keep the infotainment screen on for a longer time, without having have the engine running.
When I'm watching a movie while camping, the screen shuts off after about 12 minutes.

I would be awesome if anyone has advice on this!

Cheers

Unfortunately, the screen's 12-minute timeout is a built-in safety feature designed to prevent your 12-volt battery from draining completely. Running the infotainment system for an extended period without the engine on to charge the battery can leave you with a vehicle that won't start. I haven't heard of anyone successfully overriding that since I think the limit is hard-coded into the software. I guess you should either get used to the screen turning off every 12 minutes or just simply turn the engine on for a few minutes every so often to keep the battery topped up. Let's hope someone in this forum has tried something similar and offer you a better solution!
